This healthy snack is made from Sunflower, Pumpkin, Sesame, Linseed, Flax, Rapeseed and Hemp, all dry roasted with a dash of our special savoury sauce. The addition of rapeseed to this healthy snack which is grown by a local farming friend of Crispin's, increases the levels of Omega 3, 6 & 9, whilst the Hemp seeds give it a fantastic crunch.
Why it's good for you...
You could call this our HEALTHY HEART mix, thanks to its star nutrients - the omega-3 essential fatty acids. These essential fats are so good for us, hardly a week goes by without scientists discovering some new benefit. They lower your level of the bad kind of cholesterol, and keep your arteries happy and your blood flowing smoothly. They’re even good for your brain!
Although oily fish is an excellent source of omega-3s, and probably the one you’re most likely to have heard of, that’s no good for vegetarians or people who simply don’t like fish. But never fear, you can also get your omega-3s from flaxseeds (also called linseeds), and also rapeseeds, and you’ll get a good dose of those in this heart-healthy mix.
Omega mix’s main ingredient is sunflower seeds, one of the best sources of vitamin E, which also protects the linings of your arteries and prevents them from getting clogged and ‘furry’. And the healthy unsaturated fats in all of the seeds in our mixes are also good for your cholesterol levels.
